Veteran entertainment industry attorney, Eve Konstan, will join Spotify this May, serving as General Counsel for the music streaming platform. Previously, Konstan was with HBO working in various legal executive roles and also serving as General Counsel there in a 20 year run with the company (from Sopranos up to Game of Thrones).
With Spotify, it’s anticipated that Konstan will specialize in content licensing, biz dev, M&A, IPP litigation and risk management. The job will be based in New York and she’ll be reporting to Horacio Gutierrez, who was promoted to Chief Legal Office of Spotify. According to the Hollywood Reporter.
Here’s Konstan speaking with Thomson Reuters back in 2017, on what the best career advice she’d ever received was:
“Focus on the role that you have, and exceed expectations in every aspect of it. Too often, people are thinking about a role they would like to have, rather than focusing on what they should be doing today. Being forward-thinking is an important part of career planning, but it should not interfere with ensuring excellent execution in your current role. Success breeds success, while lack of focus, even on small tasks, can derail it.”– from an excerpt of Konstan’s interview with on May 8, 2017, with Thomson Reuters.
